Linda Lom Client Guide - Viewing Prospective Homes
Viewing Prospective Homes
This is one of the most exciting parts of the home buying process. Some people know exactly what they are looking for from day one. Some figure it out by seeing characteristics of homes that they realize are or are not right for them. This is also a good time for us to see what we can do to help find that perfect house just right for you.
Timing
The best houses don’t last long. Whether it’s the neighborhood, the price or the home itself, they only last through the first day. We must be prepared to act fast in certain buying situations. Having your pre-approval in hand is mandatory.
Seeing a little versus a lot
We usually recommend that we view no more then 4-5 homes at a time. Seeing more homes than that will usually make them run together. You start to forget which home had the beautiful fireplace, or which home had the small closets.
Slip-On Shoes
You may find that some homeowners request that guests remove their shoes during inclement weather. Wearing ones that are easy to get on and off is helpful.
Open Houses
Open houses are another great way for you to see homes. Often times the open house will take place before a home even lists in our multiple listing system. Agents do this in hopes of finding a buyer themselves. We can call you Sunday morning with potential homes to see. When you walk in to the open house, the agent will likely request that you sign in on their open house guest sheet. Typically a spot is provided for the name of your realtor. You may sign Trillium Real Estate or your agent’s name with our phone number.
