How about a free room makeover?

You know that one room in your house, the sad one you avoid because it's a bit shabby? Maybe you're even thinking of moving, but that one room is such a sticking point. Imagine this: New paint, carpet, lighting, window treatments—and maybe some bright new furniture. For free.

You could possibly win that redo just by lifting a finger. A group of local merchants is hosting a contest for a Room Makeover for Washtenaw County residents. Entering is super-easy. Just go to one of the merchant websites that has an entry form (see below) and fill it out. Or you can enter by visiting any of their stores and filling out a form there.

You do need to enter by June 30.

I love that this is a local effort—and we're 100 percent behind supporting our fellow businesses. It's part of what makes the Ann Arbor area great. What's especially wonderful is that this contest helps us get to know our neighbors and their work. Even if you don't win, you get introduced to places where you may find the services you need.
